KABUL — Up to 105 Taliban militants have been killed in military operations carried out by the Afghan security forces over the past 24 hours, said the country’s Interior Ministry on Wednesday.
“Afghan National Security Forces conducted several cleanup operations and battled militants in 12 provinces out of Afghanistan 34 provinces within the last 24 hours, killing 105 Taliban militants,” the ministry said in a statement providing daily operation updates.
Two militants were wounded and 10 others were arrested, the statement said, without saying if there were any casualties on the side of security forces.
The ANSF also seized heavy and light weapons besides defusing two car bombs during the above raids, the statement added.
The Taliban insurgent group, which has been waging an insurgency of more than one decade, has yet to make comments.
